Personal Statement

Entrance Exams

It doesn’t matter how good your grades are—if you fail these exams, you will be rejected. Many students underestimate them and get blindsided. I train students for the ESAT, TMUA, MAT, PAT, and other entrance exams with strategic preparation, shortcuts, and insider techniques.

Interviews

This is your final test, and universities want to see if you can think like a top student. Interviews are unpredictable and designed to trip you up. I’ll prepare you with mock interviews, real Oxbridge-style problem-solving, and frameworks to tackle even the hardest questions.

  • What is your teaching style?
    I tailor lessons to each student's individual needs, focusing on weak points and reinforcing strong areas. My approach is structured yet flexible, ensuring efficient learning.
  • How do online lessons work?
    I use Google Meet for video calls and Miro as a digital whiteboard—both are free to use. I provide all teaching materials and share homework assignments via online links.
  • How long are lessons, and what is the cost?
    I charge £70 per hour. Lesson duration is flexible, but most students benefit from 1.5 to 2 hours per week. I’m highly flexible with scheduling. In person lessons cost £100 per hour to account for travel time/costs, the improved tutoring experience, and printing costs.
  • Do you offer group lessons?
    Yes, I provide both one-on-one and group lessons. I have also worked with schools to run group classes.
  • Do you provide homework?
    Yes, I assign practice questions based on class content. We review homework in the following session to address any difficulties. Homework is essential for improvement.
  • How do you prepare students for Oxbridge-style interviews?
    I offer mock interviews with detailed feedback, provide question banks from my own experience and Cambridge peers, and run general interview coaching sessions covering techniques, strategies, and mindset.
  • Do you help with personal statements for subjects outside of STEM?
    Yes, I provide structured coaching and reviews for all personal statements. I also provide class sessions where I am lecturing how to write a good personal statement, a service typically offered for educational institutions such as schools and sixth forms.
  • What does your entrance exam preparation include?
    I cover everything, including past papers, problem-solving strategies, and exam-specific techniques. I have a large exclusive resource bank.
  • Can you help with university selection?
    Yes, I guide students on choosing universities, courses, and even Oxbridge colleges.
  • When should students start preparing for entrance exams and interviews?
    As soon as possible. The earlier you start, the stronger your application.
  • What types of independent projects do you help with?
    I support a wide range of engineering and coding projects, including: Arduino & Raspberry Pi projects Balancing robots & drones Game development (e.g., Snake game projects) Machine learning & AI applications More low-level programming involving logic gates and semiconductor electronics General robotics & automation projects

    Projects are typically individual, but I actively collaborate with students, offering guidance and troubleshooting support.

    They strengthen personal statements, showcase hands-on skills, and make applicants stand out.
  • Do you provide software and materials for projects?
    Yes, I provide the official Oxbridge Engineering 3D modeling and programming software they use and can even 3D print and mail custom parts to students as required.
  • Do you tutor younger students (e.g., KS3 or 11+)?
    Yes, I work with students at all levels. I am DBS checked & certified. Happy to provide evidence upon request.
  • Do you assist with IB Internal Assessments (IA) and Extended Essays (EE)?
    Yes, I support students with IA and EE guidance.
  • Do you teach university-level maths, physics, or engineering?
    Yes, I offer early degree-level tutoring.
  • Are there any topics in maths or physics you do not cover?
    No—just let me know in advance so I can prepare effectively.
  • Do you help with AP exams or SAT subject tests?
    Yes, I offer support for AP exams, SAT subject tests, and other international exams.
  • What Exam Boards do you cover?
    In terms of UK exam boards, I cover AQA, Edexcel, OCR, and have even tutored for the more niche ones! The exam boards don't differ with content much, it's more about question structure :)
  • How can I book a lesson?
    You can email me, contact me on WeChat, book a consultation through my website, send a message via the site’s messaging service, or press the button below.
  • Do you offer a free consultation?
    Yes, the first consultation is free, but the first full lesson is paid.
  • What is your cancellation policy?
    Cancel at least 24 hours in advance, or the full lesson fee will be charged. However, I’m flexible and understanding in genuine cases.
  • Do you offer any guarantees for student success?
    No, unfortunately luck plays a large part in applications. But my approach has helped 93% of my students achieve top results and secure university offers at Oxford, Cambridge, and Imperial.
  • How far in advance should I book lessons?
